Review of Planetary Apothecary (Paperback)

Incredibly insightful take on health and wellness. This book appeals to the astrology novice (me) as well as those well versed in their astrological make up.Before reading Planetary Apothecary I hadn't considered a connection between my zodiac sign and my physical health.I wish I had this book 5 years ago because much of what Gailing details as part of my "Libran" self-care profile, I've slowly come to know through trial and error.I'm excited to try the wellness recommendations she outlines in areas I haven't explored (i.e. aromatherapy, yoga poses and relaxation techniques). While there are 12 astrological signs (and main chapters in the book) I found that reading the chapters on my moon and ascendant signs were equally helpful in creating a more personalized wellness plan. This has opened my eyes to the world of medical astrology and I'm loving it!

Product Description
From the sensitive Pisces to the impetuous Aries to the hardworking Capricorn, each astrological personality is distinct, with unique health needs of body, mind, and spirit. Review of Feng Shui: Arranging Your Home to Change Your Life [ILLUSTRATED] (Paperback)

I should have known! The feng shui just wasn't right for an art gallery in that little Victorian house by the sea on the coast of Maine!!!Thechi--or life energy--flew down the staircase and out the front doorwhenever it opened, and the large gallery rooms lacked accessibility fromthe front of the house--customers had to wind their way through the hall toget there. Now that that little unsuccessful venture is over, I'll useKirsten Lagatree's Feng Shui to design my new house to maximize happinessand abundance in my new life in the DC area.Little water fountains willkeep the chi, or life energy flowing, and yellow flowers in the southeastcorner will keep my marriage harmonious.A mirror will face the front doorto deflect any poison arrows that might shoot directly in from the street, and my many little animal sculptures will find their optimum positions tobring their benevolent energies into my home. It may sound like hocuspocus--but who cares? It can't hurt, and it could really help, and in anycase, I'm sure I'll find great enjoyment in bringing the principles of fengshui into my interior design.

Product Description

Review of Feng Shui for Life: Mastering the Dynamics between Your Inner World and Outside Environment (Paperback)

This is an awesome book for both the first-timer and anyone looking for a little more detailed information about improving your life with feng shui. It covers the philosophy and concepts of feng shui, along with how to determine who you are, where you are, and where you are going. It has a self-assesment section which addresses possible health problems you may have and how to remedy them. Part 4 is all about feng shui in the home. I started reading this book and couldn't put it down until 2 in the morning. Then I got right up the next morning and finished reading it. It is easy to understand but not so simple to make you feel like a "dummy." It is wonderful as a straight read-through and also will work as a reference to come back to many times. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about feng shui and what it can do for you.

Review of Detoxification - All you need to know to recharge, renew and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit! (Paperback)

This is a good book to read for following your first detox. But I did find that my body needed some protein on the second day.So I added beans to the evening meal of miso the second night and it worked like a charm. This book contains some New Age mumbo-jumbo, but if you follow the dietary plans, you will see some amazing benefits. As the book recommends, I highly recommend you stick with a strict vegi diet the week before your detox to get the most benefits.I started on a Tuesday.By the following Tuesday I had lost 9 pounds and felt so great I hated going off the detox plan. Once you try a couple of different plans in this book, you figure out what works best for you.I invested in a Green Power juicer ..., the kind that juices wheatgrass, and I'm using it like crazy. You can also pick up a book of juicing recipes that will help you find ways to make the juices more delicious.Enjoy!

The book combines an easy to understand guide to the basic principles of Feng Shui, with "before andafter" examples of rooms that have been transformed in order toenhance a particular aspect of the inhabitant's life.

Glossy picturesthroughout also make it a great coffee table book, and an ideal gift. Infact I have bought somany copies for friends I think Gina Lazenby oughtto pay me commission!

Review of Cottage Witchery: Natural Magick for Hearth and Home (Paperback)

As a novice kitchen witch & yet to begin gardener this book was quite helpful in sparking ideas. While no chapter went into deep detail the basics are covered and that's what I was after.Ms. Dugan's style is very conversational which I prefer over academic language. It's an easy read, and offers inspiration, not concrete "must be this way" type solutions.Ms. Dugan encourages creativity and adapting her charms. If you're just getting started this is an excellent resource. If you're more advanced in the art of kitchen or green witchcraft you may want to look for a different title as I doubt you would find the indepth information you may desire here.
