Review of The Multi-Orgasmic Man: Sexual Secrets Every Man Should Know (Paperback)

My experience obviously may be different than others, but I didn't bother much with the breathing exercises or all the Taoist exercises or concepts, except maybe the visualizing of the energy flow.I simply regularly practiced becoming very aware of the whole process of excitation in my body through to just before ejaculation, and used the book's explicit advice on stopping stimulation a bit before the point of no return by pressing on the perineum area to learn to prevent ejaculation both during regular masturbation practice and when making love with my fiancé.Eventually after two months I was able to slowly but surely be able to experience more and more of the orgasmic experience without having to ejaculate and with just using contraction of my perineum muscles.I found like many have before me, that orgasm is indeed separate from ejaculation, with some short period in between.I am now able to have as many orgasms as I want to in a love making session, and my fiancé has learned to do the same.Although mine are no longer accompanied by the additional pleasure of the genital focused ejaculation spasms, except for the once every ten days that I do choose to ejaculate at the end of a session, per the book's advice, my orgasms are full body now and I am clearly aware how the pleasure is brain based, not genital based.Believe me, it's way beyond worth the effort.Sex the way I experienced it previously doesn't even rank on the same scale. It's kind of like the absurd fantasy that is presented in porno movies become real, and I'm not kidding!!!I'ma somewhat average male in most respects, although I would say I do live an alternative lifestyle. I do not have any specific previous "spiritual" or body awareness training. This book was astoundingly practical and allowed me to become a Multi-Orgasmic male in about two months of regular, although by no means particularly strenuous practice. It has revolutionized my experience of sexuality, and allowed me to leave genital focused orgasm and ejaculation goal orientation far behind, and take a quantum shift in intimacy and ecstatic pleasure for both my lover and I.She found it extremely quick (in a couple of days) and easy to learn how to not "crest over" and remain multi-orgasmic continuously without getting over-sensitized and not wanting to continue, as many women do after a full orgasm. This book can honestly change your life experience radically!!!I recommend a beginners mind here, and you will definitely be rewarded, even though there may not be an extensive amount of details in the book about the experiential progression of the practice, and even if, as the authors indicate, it may take up to six months of practice to get the hang of it.I just trusted my own experience as I went along and took what was valuable and understandable for me, and left the rest like water off a duck's back.

Review of Polish Herbs, Flowers & Folk Medicine (Polish Interest) (Hardcover)

In this charming book, Sophie Hodorowicz Knab answers all of the questions that anyone might have about the use of herbs in Poland. She starts by informingus about an archaeological site that dates back to 550-400 BC. The site was discovered in the Bydgoszcz province in1931.It was determinedthat the early inhabitants grew several types of grain and used herbs in medicinal preparations andfor flavoring foods.

The author also tells us how herbs were used inthe pre-Christian era and how those practices were integrated into the Christian celebrations that came later. Due to the geographic location of Poland, many travelers following the trade routes passed through her borders and introduced exotic new plants to the country.

There's an abundance of data offered about the herbal gardens in the monasteries. Those gardens were in many ways the most advanced and useful because the monks had links with their fellow orders from all over Europe. Therefore, the different formulas for herbal medicines were passed back and forth between the monasteries.

Palace gardens are also discussed. Since the royal families made marriage alliances with neighboring countries, the spouses often brought different plants and trees with them to be planted in their new home. Italian style gardens and vegetables such as tomatoes and cauliflower were introduced by Queen Bona who was born in Italy.

I particularly liked the information given about the cottage gardens. We're told "that a lovely garden was the spirit of the housewife." These kitchen gardens were much simpler than their formal counterparts. The lady of the house would grow the herbs that she liked best. "There was marjoram for sausage, dill for pickling, and parsley, sage and fennel for enhancing soups and stews." The illustrations in this part of the book intrigued me, and I really enjoyed the folk-style drawings. I thought that the different types of bee skeps were very unique. Sugar was a luxury and the common people kept bees so that they would have honey to use as a sweetener.

Finally, even theglossary of herbs and flowers presented some absorbing and entertaining passages. The customary usage for the various plants are offered and a few recipes and remedies are also included. The names of the plants are given in English, Latin and Polish. There's even a recipe for Benedictine which sounds very intriguing!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about Poland.

Review of The Way of Ayurvedic Herbs: A Contemporary Introduction and Useful Manual for the World's Oldest Healing System (Paperback)

This is my first time reading anything about Ayurvedic Medicine and after going through the book, I had cross-referenced its contents with some of my friends who have been implementing these practices in their life, amazingly they all agree with the information provided in this book. For example the use of Garlic, onion, and Ginger is the primary ingredient of almost every Indian household for many many years along with other spices..handed down from Mother to Daughter but no one ever questioned why these spices were the primary base of all the foods.. with this book it breaks down and explains detailed benefits of each of these tri-primary base of Indian food. Pretty good.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to change their life and live a longer healthy life.

Review of More Natural Remedies: What to Do to Prevent and Treat Disease Naturally (Paperback)

This book, along with the first one "Natural Remedies" are well-researched, something that is not so common among books about natural remedies. It is also nice that it thorougly explains simple remedies that most anyone could do at home for common discomforts, so that we may reduce the need to frequently run to the doctor for every little thing, or take a lot of extra medications that have side effects.

Review of Doctor's Book of Food Remedies [ILLUSTRATED] (Paperback)

I loved reading this book because it was packed with information on the foods we love.More than 9,000 scientific studies have proven beyond doubt that food is our best medicine. This book shows which foods are the most healing. In nature animals know which foods to nibble on to get well, with this book...we will too!

I think the best way to use this book is to completely read it cover to cover and write down every food you think you need. Then, try to incorporate those foods into your diet. Studies have identified 107 of the most powerful healing foods, spices and herbs. There are some compounds which just cannot be absorbed by the human bloodsteam unless they are eaten in a food.Taking ellagic acid (a cancer fighter) in a pill form doesn't work.It is essential to eat strawberries or other berries in order to obtain ellagic acid. After reading this book you will look at a stawberry pie in a new way.

"Let food be your medicine, and let medicine be your food." --Hippocrates, 400 B.C.

This book also gives helpful hints on how to select produce and keep it fresh. There is also some great information on how to prepare fruits and vegetables.

You will find great life saving information:

Eating cherries helps to prevent cancer, "perillyl alcohol" blocks the formation of a variety of cancers and contain a compound called quercetin. This neutralizes cancer-causing agents in the body.It also shields your DNA against cancer.

Eating red grapefruits will give you more "lycopene" which helps protect against heart disease.Ruby Red and Star Ruby are great choices.

"Diet has the distinction of being the only major determinant of health that is completely under your control." --Andrew Weil, M.D.

The recipes are easy to make and there are plenty of them. There are also plenty of great pictures to get you to the store!Blueberries anyone...

Review of Growing 101 Herbs that Heal: Gardening Techniques, Recipes, and Remedies (Paperback)

Although Rodale's book is still one of the beter gardening books for growing herbs, and other books have more comprehensive coverage of the uses of essential oils, Tammi Hartung's GROWING 101 HERBS THAT HEAL is interesting if you are a relative newcomer to either area and want a good overview of factors to consider.Hartung includes a brief discussion of gardening techniques, harvesting and drying methods, and culinary uses of herbs including a few recipes (check out Dr. Duke and Andrew Weil for more coverage on the latter.)

The book also includes many lovely photos, especially one of `Goldenseal' which I plan to grow in my own garden next year as CITES (Convention of International Trade of Endangered Species) lists this plant as an `at-risk' organism. Many herbalists understand the importance of responsible wildcrafting, Hartung, a 'Medical Herbalist', points a way toward growing your own remedies and relieving the stress on overharvested wild plants as well as obtaining A-1 oils or dried herbs from your own garden.
